Returns & Warranty

We hope you love your Formi product as much as we’ve loved creating it. Each piece is thoughtfully designed, carefully checked and packaged with care before it leaves our hands.

If something isn’t quite right, we’re here to help. This policy explains how we manage returns, refunds, exchanges and warranty claims in line with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Nothing in this policy limits or replaces your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Faulty or Damaged Items

If your item arrives damaged or develops a fault, please get in touch at hello@shopformi.com within 7 days of delivery (or within a reasonable time if the issue appears later).

Include your order number, a short description of the issue and clear photos or video.

We’ll review your claim promptly and, where appropriate, arrange a repair, replacement or refund in line with the Australian Consumer Law.

If we need the item returned, we’ll send you a prepaid return label or arrange collection — no cost to you.

Please hold on to the original packaging until your claim is resolved, as couriers may not be able to collect unboxed items.

2. Change-of-Mind Returns

We can only accept returns for unopened items in their original packaging.

For change-of-mind returns:

  • You must contact us within 14 days of delivery.
  • The item must be unused, unwashed and unopened in its original packaging.
  • Proof of purchase is required.
  • Return shipping costs are covered by the customer.

Once approved, we’ll issue a store credit or refund for the item’s value (excluding original shipping).

We’re unable to accept change-of-mind returns for opened items, used products, sale items or gift cards.

3. Exchanges

If you’d like to exchange an item, please request a refund or store credit and place a new order through the online store. You’ll just need to cover the return delivery cost.

4. Warranty

At Formi, every product is designed and made with care. We stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship and materials and want you to feel confident in your purchase.

Formi offers a 12-month limited warranty from the date of delivery, covering manufacturing defects and workmanship issues under normal domestic use.

If your product is found to have a manufacturing fault within this period, we will repair, replace or refund the item in line with the Australian Consumer Law.

This warranty operates in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

What’s Covered

  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
  • Structural faults occurring under normal intended use
  • Components that fail despite proper care and maintenance

What’s Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, marks, scratches or changes in surface finish
  • Damage caused by misuse, accident, modification or neglect
  • Exposure to moisture, extreme heat, strong sunlight or harsh cleaning products
  • Damage resulting from failure to follow the provided care instructions
  • General deterioration of materials over time due to environmental factors
  • Products purchased “as is” or notified as defective prior to sale

We do not offer warranty extensions beyond the standard twelve-month coverage.

The expected lifespan of Formi products exceeds this warranty period; the warranty specifically covers manufacturing faults, not normal wear over time.

How to Make a Claim

To lodge a warranty claim, please email hello@shopformi.com with:

  • Your full name and order number (from your receipt or order confirmation email)
  • Photos or video showing the issue
  • A brief description of the fault

Please retain your proof of purchase and original packaging until your claim is resolved. We aim to assess all warranty claims within 5–10 business days and will contact you with next steps once reviewed.

If your claim is approved, we’ll offer one of the following remedies:

  • Repair or replacement of the product, or
  • A refund, depending on availability and the nature of the issue.

If the issue is found not to be a manufacturing defect (for example, wear and tear or misuse), the product will be returned to you at your cost.

5. Purchases Through Stockists or Marketplaces

If you purchased a Formi product through a retailer, stockist or marketplace, please contact them directly for assistance.

We’re unable to process returns or exchanges for purchases made outside the Formi online store.

6. Refund Processing

Approved refunds are issued back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider. We’ll confirm by email once your refund or replacement has been processed.
